Cause & Effect

HELLO

tap tap tap....

this thing on?

Well  folks, I am "Turkey Lurkey", your featured reporter today.

For some strange reason every night when I go in my house (yes, I have my own house and no mortgage thank you very much)

someone comes along and locks the fence around my house!

I hate it,

makes me feel so "cooped up" so to speak and I have to wait on someone with hands to come along and help a girl out.....

so I can go where I rightfully belong to spend my day....

Thats me on the left just chatting with my pal "Martha Stewart".

In addition to pooping all over the deck I have another talent my people love...

I lay eggs!

Ta da!

That's right....I have a natural talent not many possess.

I poop edible food out of my butt.

Impressed?

I thought so!

So that is why I can say............

Cause,

Effect!

The Day After Debby

The air is dry and has the most delicious smell of clean.

Sunshine is everywhere

The ant hills are big mounds now

Do they build up to ward off flooding?

The only possible bad thing to point out is

the flys of summer are back!

While we were "socked in" we enjoyed three

wonderful days with absolutely no flies.

You couldnt buy a fly!

Were did they all go?

An even better question, could we send them back?

Flowers are glistening and everything is a neon shade of green.

Debby

You tropical storm you...

not quite a hurricane.

Still causing lots of flooding and damage.

For us its 50/50

This is washing away the expensive fertlizer we put out (bad)

but is helping the peanut and the hay crops (good)

Overall it is relieving the moderate drought conditions we have been in

There is some flooding for the poor folks who live near rivers and an alligator was found swimming in a school parking lot.

As for me, I am staying indoors. Other than milking and feeding animals, nothing much is happening. If you discount the 20 inches of rain we have gotten.

What Debby looks like from my dining room:

From my kitchen

front door

open front door to catch the drips pouring down the gutter
(note - this is during a lull since the wind blows water in the door during the hard rain)

Just found another benefit of Debby....
the deck is chicken poop free!

Thanks Debby.

and savor its sweetness.

The First Day of Summer

Welcome to the longest day of the year,

the summer solstice,

the beginning of summer.

Summer means different things to different people.

School is out!

Bathing suits are in!

Lemonade and ice cream

are the primary food groups.

You can go ahead and add one more thing to that list if you live

on a farm....

Long hot dry days are the perfect recipe for good hay.

The rake is ready to come out of winter hibernation.

This is only the beginning....

Enjoy the day!

Daisy, Daisy (3 dogs part l)

I am Daisy

or as some are wont to say

"crazy Daisy"

No one knows where I hail from.

I just showed up one day.

And I decided to stay.

I am (according to who you ask)

a pain, a freak of nature, an enigma.

To all of which I say thank you!

I am impervious to what people think.

I am a fire walker

a lion tamer

a calf whisperer

I live in my own little world
I store my treasures on top of a hay bale where no one can reach except me
which I do in a single effortless leap

I love everyone and everything

on my own terms

I am totally in my own world.

I am Daisy

and I am an enigma.

Dixie Dawg (3 Dogs part ll)

Hi.

I am Dixie Dawg.

I am a red nosed Pit Bull.

Therefore I try to act brave.

Not.

I was sick when I was a puppy.

Right after I got to my new home...

I had something they call Parvo.

It kills lots or puppies.

I lived!

Everyone was  so relieved when I got better.

However,

I have ADD

and ADDHD

and I am working on my

PHD

I just like letters

especially the letter D

I don't like remembering tricks like "sit".

Remembering things makes me anxious.

Me and my D's prefer to live in the right now.

Its all I can handle.

Some might call me handicapped.

I think I can teach people a lot  about what life really means

I am the one and only

Dixie Dawg

and I live in the moment.

I'm On the Edge (3 dogs part lll)

Hi.

I'm Emme.
I have a bay window.
I like to spend time in my bay window.

I do not like to play it safe and stay in the center.
No.

I am an edgy kind of girl.
At the same time, I am very chill.

Edgy Chill is my rapper name.

I don't care if you creep close with your black clicky box apparatus
that you hold up to your eye.

I told you I was chill.....

I don't even care if you climb up in to my space and stand over me balancing yourself precariously
about to break your neck.

Nothing alarms me.
I kill with my bare teeth. I move without making any sound.
I strike fear in to the heart of man and beast.

Even in my down time, I take risks.
No safe spots for me....

I am Emme
and I live life on the edge.

What Child Is This?

Today was a most wonderful and important day.

A little person came into our lives.

So new

so sweet smelling.

There is really nothing as precious as a newborn is there?

Welcome baby boy, you are already loved.

rain rain rain

It rained
 finally
the crops never grew in our barren spring
the dirt became less than dirt
 powdered corn starch
the kids did jigs they called rain dances
to appease the worried frown in the elders heads

 now it is raining
 the ground is solid again
people in the grocery store gathered to buy meat for their BBQs
and laughed about having to grill in the rain
here everyone understands

IF there is no rain the deer cannot eat
predators that depend on deer can not eat with out them
we have no protection against rabbits and squirrels taking over
nibbling all the crops before they can grow
otherwise "cute" little critters those rabbits and swuirrels,
like a team of rats breaking in to your house
 and eating all your food
if they eat all the green growing things
 the cattle could not survive
without cattle, the people could not survive

 nature has a finite balance
a hand as sharp as an executioners sword
it fell in our favor today.
