Spring Has Sprung!

Posted by Picasa

Although the "official" first day of spring wont be for a few weeks yet,

(Sunday March 20, 2011 at 7:21PM EDT or 11:21PM Universal Time - kicks off the first official day of spring.)

you cant tell it by looking outside!

The Red bud trees are in full bloom, as well as the Pear trees and the Dogwoods.

Even my said herb pots which I kept going ALL winter dragging them in and out and watering them ONLY to lose them (I thought) to a frost last week....

seem to be making a revival!

See the little bit of green in amongst all the dead stuff?

The Bridal Wreath bush (spirea) is bursting with big fat buds almost ready to open.

Winter was brutal here - and long. Now nature is extending her conciliatory hand in a gesture of remorse by sending an especially beautiful spring it seems.

Time to throw open the windows and enjoy the colors!

  1. It's nice to see you are having spring where you are but here in Wyoming we still have feet of snow on the ground and several weeks to go before our spring. I don't know whether to thank you or to come down there and punch you.

  2. I watch anxiously at the window for spring. I don't want her to pass us by. :)

  4. ...and I finally see this almost a month after you posted it, would have been nice to see March 3, when we also still had snow on the ground. Love the flowers in the house, such a vibrant pink on the walls, and in the mirror. Now, here too, slowly but surely the buds are bulging...
