JUST ANOTHER MANIC MONDAY

On the way to the office (ok well its a barn if you must know) I spied with my little eye...



now a newborn calf is not a rare sight on a dairy farm, but we usually KNOW the event is happening and move the about to be mom to a calving pen. But not this time!

Little mama just did her thing quickly, quietly and with no fan fare.

I took this picture from afar as I didnt want to intrude on the peaceful scene of new life finding its feet in the warm afternoon sun.

Once baby was wobbling a little less and getting the standing up thing pretty well the mama cow laid down for a well deserved rest, content just watching her pretty new baby.


Hope it's a heifer and not a bull!
